Wake Up Boston’s Next Meeting is…
Wednesday May 27th, 7:30-9:00 pm
at
Orange Door Collaborative
763 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139
Dear friends,
We hope this message finds you happy and healthy 🌷
You're invited to take refuge in Sangha this Wednesday, May 13th, at 7:30pm. We will gather at Orange Door Collaborative, 763 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139 (Google Maps).
Together we will enjoy walking and sitting meditation, Dharma reading, and Dharma sharing. We hope to see you there!
If you arrive and can’t get through the front door or find the studio, please call or text Jo at 646-345-6596 (Note that if you arrive later than 7:45 pm, we might be in the middle of meditation and can’t open the door for you right away. But we will see your text/call after and come get you as soon as we can. We would love for you to practice while you wait.)
Access details: The building is 2 blocks away from the Central Square Red Line stop. There is regular street parking on three sides of the block and several public parking lots in the area. The room is up some stairs to the front door and up a second flight of stairs. There are cushions and back supports for sitting on the floor, as well as chairs. We often have many practitioners in a small space, so you may have to sit quite close to others. There are 2 bathrooms on the same floor. If you have any other access questions, please reach out to us.
🌷 Dana (generosity)
If you feel moved to support us financially, we also gratefully accept contributions to help us cover rent for regular gatherings, days of mindfulness, and other Sangha events. You can contribute via Venmo to @anhpn19 or a cash dana in-person. We suggest a dana of $5 per session, which will help our Sangha continue beautifully into the future.
By practicing mindfulness and sharing your presence with us, you are already giving a great gift (dana) to our community. One is never required to give money to practice with us.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions about our finances. We keep track of our finances on a spreadsheet.
Book Club
Dear friends, we have a book club again! We will be reading “Zen Keys” by Thich Nhat Hanh. We meet at the Live Alive at 6:20 (ish) before Sangha. The book is available free online in an older translation. If you have questions, or can’t find us in life alive, message Jade ( +1 (339) 222-8632). Hope to see you there!
🗓️ 🥳 We now also meet on Sunday!
To support increased interest in practicing with the Sangha, Wake Up Boston has started meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays and the 2nd Sunday of every month! On Wednesdays, we will meet at 7:30-9 pm, and on Sundays, we will meet at 7-8:30 pm.

🤗 Community-led groups
We welcome members of the Wake Up community to take the lead in organizing smaller groups, events, etc., within the Sangha. These can be long-running activities like study groups, or one-off events like visits to nearby Plum Village centers. Please share your idea with a Wake Up facilitator, and we can help you share about your group/event through Substack or WhatsApp.
💬 WhatsApp group
We make all announcements via this Substack email list and WhatsApp. To join our WhatsApp group, ask any of the facilitators when you come to our gathering in-person, and we will add you! :)
🪷 About This Group
We are a mindfulness meditation community for 18 - 35-ish year olds around Boston practicing in the tradition of Plum Village Buddhism / Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. In a typical evening gathering, we’ll enjoy a guided sitting meditation, walking meditation, dharma reading, and dharma sharing about our experiences and practice in everyday life. We welcome people of all backgrounds, regardless of faith or meditation experience. You can read more about Wake Up groups on the Plum Village website.
