June 22, 1:30-2:30pm , at The Allston Abbey, Boston
Dear friends,
You're invited to gather for a special fundraiser event this Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 1:30pm. We will meet at The Allston Abbey, 5 Saint Luke’s Road, Allston, MA 02134 (Google Maps). Please register at this form if you can attend. Please enter by the back door through the garden. If you can’t find the door, please call or text Jo at 646-345-6596.
Together, we will enjoy a guided sitting meditation, walking meditation, and metta meditation to generate love for Palestine and all people suffering under oppression.
This event is a fundraiser for Camp Al-Jawad in partnership with Yogis 4 Palestine who are organizing a global initiative to reappropriate International Day of Yoga with this fundraiser. To register for and attend this event, please fill out this attendance form and indicate your donation amount to help us track how much we’ve fundraised. We suggest a donation of $20. You are also welcome to donate if you cannot attend! The need is very great and any amount is welcome. Our preferred method of donation is directly to Camp Al-Jawad using the links below but cash donations can also be collected on the day.
Camp Al-Jawad is a free educational camp for displaced children in Gaza after their schools were destroyed. They also offer psychological support, entertainment, and drawing for children. On top of this they provide school bags, stationery, clothes, and everything the student needs, food, water, and gifts such as toys. However, due to the closure of the crossings, prices have become very high and obtaining these items has become very difficult.
"Al Jawad” is one of the 99 names of God in Islam, it means “the most generous”. And at the same time, the word jawad in Arabic is used to refer to horses.
